2006 - Summer of the Deathless Herald

Final word count: 50,554 (Complete)
This story was written from my love of D&D RPG adventures. I drew up character sheets for the five main characters and a few of the others, found endless randomisers for descrioptions and names of towns, places and people. It was great fun to write and was the first complete story I have written during NaNoWriMo.
Blurb:
Five brave adventurers recently returned home from their last escapade, encounter a strange man in their favourite inn, The Smiling Imp. After listening to his story and request for help strange things start to happen that just can not be ignored. Despite the adventurers wanting a break from their contineous travels, they find themselves being drawn towards Stonemeadow Hollow. As they travel there through the sweltering heat of the oncoming summer they encounter many strange characters and make many new friends. There are many delays though and doubt starts to rise, will they reach Stonemeadow Hollow in time to save a dear friend?

Writer's further thoughts
After reading The Savage Caves, I have realised that I waffle too much and don't get down to the action and "punch" of the story quick enough to hold anyone's attention, even my own. This story will need to be completely re-written but the plot does make a good base from which to start. The task seems a bit daunting but is not un-doable.
